Capital one credit card question?
March 4th, 2010 | by admin |I own a student credit card and have a question. I’m close to hitting my $300 limit for my credit card. If I use it and go over will I be charged a fee each time I go over the limit or just once?

It depends on your card agreement. Most, if not all, will charge you once for going over the limit per month. Some cards will not allow you to continually go over the limit. i.e. once you are over your limit, transactions may be declined. If you go over your limit, and do not bring the card under your credit limit by the next billing cycle, you will get charged an overlimit fee again even if you havent used the card anymore. Try not to get too close to your max, it looks bad to creditors. You should really try to only use 30% of your available credit.

you will be charged once unless you keep charging within a short amount of time. your purchases will not be denied so you will get charged again, and again if your purchases keep getting approved. its not worth it. dont do it. if you have had the card for a while and no late payments, call them and ask for a credit limit increase. you might get it. good luck.
