No credit card is good for a 21 year old college student.

Any credit card that citi has to offer is a great choice, competitive interest rates, rewards, generous credit limits…check out the Citi MtvU card, or any of the student cards they have to offer. I have several of them, and Citi has excellent customer service as well.

Most credit cards are fine. I’ve had good customer service with Capitol One. They automatically lower the APR if you’ve consistently paid your minimum payment on time which is nice. Most other companies, you have to remember to call them every 6 months to actually ASK them to lower the APR.

Whatever card you go with, be SURE to have them put a low limit on it….even if you’re offered a higher limit. Believe me, it’s alot better for you to start out with credit slowly instead of getting in over your head. Start with say a $500 limit and make sure to call Customer service tell them to put a note on your account that they are NOT to automatically increase your credit limit unless YOU specifically call in request that yourself. I had that happen wtih my AMEX. They DOUBLED my credit limit. I never thought I’d use it but of course, then becuase I had it, I used it. stupid I know. So, now I have a note on every credit card account saying the limit is to only be increased at my request. I don’t want anymore suprises….and I especially don’t want someone who steals my card to make out with a fortune in available credit.
