Also, i cannot ask my parents to co-sign for a bank credit card bc i dont want them to know if i get a cedit card. it is really none of their business-they are overbearing controling. I have applied for about 10 cards have been denied for all of them but JCPenney said that I would get a response in the mail-is that card hard to get? Any advice ANYONE?????? Each time you apply for a credit card and get rejected, that’s one more negative hit on your credit score. With the credit market tightening up right now, it’s hard to get a credit card without existing credit accounts. I suggest waiting another 6 months before you try to apply for another one in order to give your credit score some time to return to a higher number. And when you do apply again, go to your local bank and try to get one through them. If you have a checking or savings account with them, that really helps.

You should really check into your credit rate. I was able to get one no problem. My friend on the other hand could not. I was with him, when he applied for something, and they told him, he wold hear from them in about a week. So the week, cane, and the later said he had no credit, so they could not give him one. We found that strange, and he keep applying. After about the 10th time. I said why not check your credit report. It said on the report that he had cards, they were not being used. It turn out that his brother got cards in his name and open them, but did not use them. That could be one reason you can’t get a card. Also I don’t know, but he went to Fargo Wells, and they gave him a loan, they help him straighten everything out. He now has cards, in his name. It took like 6 months for this all to work out, but it does help.
I hope that this helps, and good luck, I know that it is hard,

1- check out your credit report and make sure someone else hasn’t been using your SS# to obtain credit.
2- apply for an easier card such as a dept store. If you can get that request a max. of $500 or you may end up very sorry. This is a dangerous area for college students as you have no income and this can quickly get out of hand. Use the card to purchase a few things (under $100) and then pay it off in full immediately for a couple of months. This will help establish your credit and will make it easier to get a bigger name card – VISA or MC,

You are going about this all wrong. It is harmful to have all those credit inquiries on your credit file.
Go to the bank where you have your account. Explain you want a credit card with a low limit. If you have managed your account without overdrafts or other problems, they may help you get a Mastercard or VISA. What you want is plain vanilla–no bells, whistles or annual fees.
When you get it, use it only occasionally and pay it off in full when the bill arrives. Don’t run up a balance!

stop applying. All those attempts puts a negative mark on your credit. Wait about 6 months to a year.

Here’s how you can establish credit immediately:
1. Borrow at least $5,000. just to hold it on deposit and not touch it. If you agree to just hold the funds, you can get this loan with NO CREDIT CHECK from creditloader.com
2. Make monthly payments for at least 6 months.
3. Give back the deposit to pay off the loan.
When you are done, your credit will show that you borrowed the $5,000. and paid it back ahead of time. THAT’S HOW TO BUILD CREDIT.

Have you checked out the popular student credit card tool online? All my friends at college recommended the site (in the source) It allows you to check out cards built for people with no credit.
I highly recommend you check out the MTVu card. It has no minimum income requirements and many students have a great approval rate for this particular card. Good luck!
